Artist Description
Anthone Ray, rapper and producer, is committed to reaching the lost and being the next hometown hero in Hip Hop/Rap. Hailing all the way from a small city called Lynchburg, VA, Anthone continues to make strides to provide passionate lyricism, energetic anthems, and melodic undertones in the forefront of his music. He infuses his worldview and life to relate to all people from different backgrounds, different stages of life, and all listeners.

Song Description
Anthone Ray doesn’t hold back with the intro “RELAY” that features a monologue from Lynchburg, Virginia native, Niko Hawkins. The record is an adrenaline rush from beginning to end like you entered a marathon. Ray takes you on a journey of being self-driven and expresses the best experience in life is life experience. Anthone explains not allowing hardships to take him off course from his way of thinking and becoming stronger after facing obstacles in life. The structure of this song is suspenseful, abrupt, and is a great way to start off an album.

Lyrics:

Verse 1:

Off to the races
Got room again to breathe I’m living spacious
I was preoccupied like loaded bases
Hit a home run, I’m sorry you gotta face it, yo
You can find success without being intimidated
By people you don’t know who you think has made it
Was thinking my lanes washed and outdated
Life’s been a waiting room the way the boy has asked for patience
I been on, can they see me
Had a chip on my shoulder like they need me
But I grew from the pain like weights on me
Cuz my security’s in heaven like ADT
Got fatigued through the valleys of my year, that’s part of life
Heavy burdens in my soul couldn’t take it light
Couldn’t speak but I learned to fight
Didn’t have to remain silent, but I choose to use Miranda rights
Got tired being so polite
People only care for the game when, they the ones who roll the dice
Staying real so I’m not the type
Leave the real up to me cuz I’m always gonna be precise
Collect wins, that’s my only goal
Running in this life, it’s either your a friend or foe
Everybody comes with an agenda
Still learning how to move on when I get injured whoa
I forgive but at times I remember whoa
We all have a past, saint and a sinner whoa
On a different type of time and it’s crazy
Me stop you can’t persuade me
That’s real talk
Faced opposition, but I stick to business
Learned to build fences not to burn bridges
Life gets a little blurry when you got vision
But, I’ma have to stay persistent yo

Hook 1:

Yeah
Set the tone, set the tone
Keep a handout I’ma get on my own
Already know that I be in my zone
Hustle till to the finish Ima get till I’m gone yeah

Yeah
Set the tone, set the tone
Keep a handout I’ma get on my own
Already know that I be in my zone
Hustle till to the finish Ima get till I’m gone yeah
Run it

Bridge:

What it do
Navigating through the zoo
There’s nothing I can lose
Now I’m breaking all the rules

What it do
Navigating through the zoo
There’s nothing I can lose
Now I’m breaking all the
Whoa, whoa, whoa

Hook 2:

Yeah I’m locked in, I don’t plan on switching lanes
Tryna see my number in the hall of fame
I’m just tryna get it in and maintain
I ain’t turning back I put that on my name
On game
Put myself on game
On game
Put myself up on game
On game
Put myself on game
On game
Put myself up on game

Verse 2:

Clocking in, clocking out, on a high note
Been the truth without my hand on the Bible
In the race of my life had my eyes closed
What I’ve heard, what I’m done, I survived though
It was vital, without a nurse
I was judged where I was yeah and beat the curse
It was written way before a verse
I was counted to be last, now I’m coming head first
In a land where there’s zombies
Risking it like Johnny
Can’t listen to what anybody says
Like I’m Jon B
They don’t see the perseverance it’s all on me
Been that way since the days, wearing tall tees
Sleet, snow, hail running thru it an exit
It is what it is,when you’re young and your restless
Gettin what’s mine, I’m over productive
Change in my perspective so I’m bound to be reckless, yeah

Hook 2:

Yeah I’m locked in, I don’t plan on switching lanes
Tryna see my number in the hall of fame
I’m just tryna get it in and maintain
I ain’t turning back I put that on my name
On game
Put myself on game
On game
Put myself up on game
On game
Put myself on game
On game
Put myself up on
