Living Witness Music feature, “Together” by Tyrone Crawford featuring Jessica Mack.

From the rough streets of Cleveland to the U.S. military to the top of the Amazon Christian music charts, Tyrone Crawfordā€™s story reads like a novel, full of passionate struggle, steadfast faith, and spiritual transformation. Friday the active duty Air Force serviceman and nationally known Christian rapper with a one-of-a-kind sound, driving beats, and powerful words joins the conversation about racial unity with the release of his bold new single, TOGETHER, available now for purchase and streaming across all DSPs via WieRok Entertainment. Reflecting on the meaning of the song, Tyrone explains, ā€œDivision is something that has been growing more and more over the last few years. Especially between different races. As I observe this division grow beyond manā€™s control, my hope is that this song would cause a domino effect and begin to bring people closer together.ā€

ā€œTogether,ā€ featuring rising country music artist and CMT ā€œMusic Cityā€ docu-series star Jessica Mack, is the follow up to Crawfordā€™s first track, ā€œHope,ā€ and is part of a series of songs comprising the rapperā€™s first body of work with his management team, WieRok. Scheduled to release every few months through 2019, the singles speak a message of hope and accountability to those that need a lifeline.

In the spirit of this message and Philippians 3:13 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before…” Crawford is also introducing the NGB apparel line. NGB is an acronym for ā€œNever Going Backā€ ā€“ a commitment he made to never go back to a life without Christ.

As a teenager, Tyrone was that person in need of a lifeline. His motherā€™s drug addiction and his fatherā€™s absence made risky situations and dangerous people a part of normal life. By age 18, he was selling drugs and hanging out with drug dealers, coming within inches of choosing that path for himself. Adolescence exposed Tyrone to another force: homegrown rap music. He began recording tracks, mimicking the rappers he admired — writing songs about money he didnā€™t have and cars he couldnā€™t afford.

When Tyroneā€™s cousin invited him to a church youth event, he wasnā€™t expecting much, but the experience changed everything. That night, he gave his life to Christ and began making dramatic changes to his own path, diving head-first into the New Testament then joining the military. With his heart of service, he has made a successful career out of the Air Force.

lyrics to “close” by nobigdyl:

We were best friends up until I had to give confessions
With the stress now, we are gonna need some intercession
Feel the pain arise, how could I lie night after night by your side
All the while keeping lies down inside
Put my vows to the side, now your eyes close tight in the night
Valentines, just another day feeling outta place
And I really hate me when I see your face
Then I contemplate what if I erased me

Better that than facing the truth
Someone better waiting for you
Someone who is faithful to you

Grabbed me by my face with your wedding band up against my jaw
Said Iā€™m here to stay thatŹ¼s for every win thatŹ¼s for every loss
I can never estimate the price you paid to forgive my faults
I said baby girl you donŹ¼t have to take this
She said boy you gon have to face it

I wanna hold you close
Iā€™ll never let you go
Come let me in your arms
I wanna hold you close

How do people get like me
You ainŹ¼t never seen a wreck like me
You ainŹ¼t never owed a debt like me
How you gonna save a wretch like me

I might turn a bottle to a hospital
Saw somebody carve a canyon in their skin
Saw the Rio Grande
It turn red, they might need a bandage

Need a friend I feel so abandoned

But I know I deserve it
I donŹ¼t even wanna fight the verdict
I donŹ¼t need some kinder words
I have hurt everyone I know
Iā€™m the worst and flying birds really kinda covet
Scared to go, cuz I dont know whatŹ¼s next
When I die, will I fly, will I love it

Will I pay the price for rejecting everything You gave
How much does Your grace cost when I face off with my past, and I lose the game
Built a sandcastle out of fear, and now I pray that YouŹ¼ll send a wave
Will You renovate, will You terminate
If YouŹ¼re even there You just probably hate me

Grab me by my hand, and I felt the spirit move in my heart
Said Iā€™ll live again and that all I didŹ¼s nailed to the cross
I could never estimate the price You paid to forgive my faults
Then I said Lord I could not repay this
He said boy you gon have to face it

Lyrics to War Cry By Social Club Misfits:

This is our war cry
Weā€™ll rise up, weā€™ll rise up
And this is our time to rise up, to rise up
Rise up

I thought by now I would get it
His love for me is unmeasured
Still feel like I could do better
Was paralyzed by depression
But Heaven and earth came together
And You came to my rescue
Iā€™ll use my voice as a weapon
On earth like itā€™s in Heaven
I never handled things too well
But I was made to fly not to fail
I donā€™t need manā€™s approval
When God sent me to bring Heaven down for the kids going through Hell
We gonna make it
I donā€™t care what the worldā€™s been saying
Itā€™s time to step up not cave in
The grace He gave us, amazing
A love that can conquer the hatred
But itā€™s up to us
A new generation to show His love
From the ends of the earth till the day He comes

This is our war cry
Weā€™ll rise up, weā€™ll rise up
And this is our time to rise up, to rise up
Rise up

We turned a stage to an altar at the last show
Something about when you know youā€™re being impactful
Using the tools I was given but being tactful
Went from the pit, to raps inside of a Mac full
With the powersize of a Mack truck
I went through the hard times no bad luck
Graduated cap, gown with the tassel
Now I make art like Basil
But I still keep it classic like a left eye rhyme, Big poppa like the bed sty guy
Then I got the dirt off my shoulders like Jay in his prime
I stood on my own two like the veterans taught
If I ever lay down let it be for some rest
And whenever Iā€™m recharged let me be at my best
So, whenever Iā€™m pouring out all your love to the rest
Now you can go and tell all the rest

Biography
Brandon “B-WISE” Wise was born December 19, 1983 in the Blue Ridge mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. Brandon began singing and rapping at 12 years old. In high school, he started out in a R&B group called Physique with four of his male friends. They aspired for fame and fortune, but as time went on, they went their separate ways. At age 15, B-Wise was featured as a singer with the young rap group The Souf Boys, collaborating on one of their songs called “Keep it real.”

As his teenage years went on, B-Wise began selling drugs and listening to
gangster hip hop music, which glamorized an illegal lifestyle. He was intrigued by the fast money, but was never really satisfied inside. Then a miracle occurred and the LORD came into his life. He experienced a deep spiritual change and no longer wanted to create music about gang-banging, materialism, and explicit subjects. His desire was to change the world in a positive way and be a “Martin Luther King” in the music industry. In September of 2001, at the age of 17, Brandon “B-Wise” Wise decided to accept Christ into his heart and underwent a major mental and spiritual transformation.

B-Wise says: ā€œOne night, I was at a youth service at my church in Asheville, sitting in the back row free-styling with some friends. I could not free-style very well at the time, so I decided to write a verse. I read it aloud to the youth group and everyone was amazed at what I had written. Then the teacher said that I should start writing rap songs for the Lord. And I told her that I didn’t know if that’s what God wanted me to do. And she said, ‘Brandon, the Devil doesn’t want you to do anything that will glorify God. If it is in your heart to write music for God, then go with your passion.’ So after that, I started writing rap songs for the Lord and my spiritual life began to grow. I became a better person as I applied the teachings from the Bible into my every day life.”
